Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) is a nonprofit organization that is committed to ending mass incarceration, excessive punishment and challenging racial and economic injustice in the United States. In April 2018, EJI opened the National Memorial for Peace and Justice memorial as well as The Legacy museum in Montgomery, Alabama to allow visitors to gather and reflect on America’s history of racial inequality.

The creative agency I’m working at got this project and I was working on one illustrated 2D video that provide historical facts related to the domestic slave trade and show the harrowing journey behind the relocation of thousands of enslaved people from the Mid-Atlantic region to cities in the South, like Montgomery itself.

I use charcoal illustration style to represent the dark and heavy history, did art direction, storyboard and illustration for this video.
